Volunteer – Make Friends and Make a Difference

We love our volunteers and our volunteers love the library.  Come support the library and make new Friends.  There are many ways to contribute.

Sort Donated Materials

We have three wonderful teams of volunteers who sort Monday and Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons.  Our sorting volunteers do a number of tasks: stacking donated items on carts, scanning those donations, sorting and boxing the scanned books and media, and storing the boxes in the garage for our quarterly book sales.  Sorting our donations is the first step in raising funds to support the Library.  Sorted books are sold online through Amazon, in our Lobby Shop and in the quarterly book sales.  Contact us to find a good time for you.

Assist with Lobby Shop Sales

We have the nicest faces in our shop and we'd be happy to add yours!  It's a warm and welcoming place, stocked with books, CDs, DVDs, and computer and novelty items that are enjoyed by library patrons every week.

If you are happy to meet friendly people in the library, this might be the place for you.  For more details, or to volunteer, see our Lobby Shop Volunteers page.

Help with Book Sales

There are many different ways to help make our quarterly book sales successful.  No long term commitment required.

Call 650-526-7031 or email us to find a spot that fits you best.

Support Online Sales

We sell many books online, and our team reviews their condition and current prices, lists the appropriate items, fulfills incoming orders and packages them up for shipping.  Computer comfort (but not expertise) is necessary for most of these activities.  For more details, or to volunteer, see our Online Sales Volunteers page.

Marketing Opportunities

Get the word out to the community about the Friends and our events.  Volunteers are needed for various activities.  All have flexible times, and none require attendance at any Board meetings.  Contact us for more details.
